----------Hot Pink Delorean Exclusive Interview------------------------------------------------------------------

iBrostep: So where did you come up with the name Hot Pink Delorean?
HPD: We were looking for something future but retro, since we originally were using samples from the past to make futuristic sounding music.  Something from Back to the Future seemed like a good idea and we loved the Delorean.  Thats kind of boring alone though, so we added the hot pink, to make it a bit flashy and unique.  This was also in 2007 when everything in the electro scene was bright and neon.
iBrostep: When did you guys start making music, and what drew you into the EDM scene?
HPD: We all got into EDM in the mid 90s, listening to acts like Prodigy and Chemical Brothers. We all started making music and performing in the late 90s.  Its been a while!
iBrostep: How has your music evolved since you first started producing EDM tracks?
HPD: We started producing so long ago that our music has changed several times over due to technology and changing tastes and trends in the EDM scene.  The main difference though is that we produced drum & bass up until we did HPD in 2007.
iBrostep:  What kind of setup do you use in your studio and live sets?
HPD: In the studio we are all software.  We are on Cubase, use a lot of Izotope plug ins and mix and master on Audeze headphones.   At gigs we DJ on Serato run through CDJ 2000s and a DJM 800 DJ mixer and we ned a mic for Jon.
iBrostep: A lot of EDM artists release singles and EP's these days, what made you decide to take it to the next level and release a full-length album?
HPD: We wanted to release an LP so that we could make some music that wasn't typical peak hour electro house.  The LP format allows us to do something a little bit different and take a few risks on some tracks that we wouldn't normally release.
iBrostep: So we know you guys crush it as Terravita (dnb + dubstep) as well, how do you keep that balance in the studio?
We just try to get everything done by deadlines and keep it all organized with to do lists.  Sometimes we need to spend more time on HPD, sometimes we spend more time on Terravita.  It all depends on what needs to get done.
iBrostep: We saw a show coming up with both Terravita and HPD, do you do just one huge set? How do you go about doing those dual act shows?
HPD: We never do one set.  Although there are a lot of fans in common, not all fans of one of our acts like the other.  We play one set.  Then there's another act.  Then we do the other set.
iBrostep: Who are some of your favorite producers right now?
HPD: Dada Life is killing it.
iBrostep: Do you have any tips for up and coming EDM producers?
HPD: Read a lot of books on production.  Keep practicing until your music sounds as good as your favourite artists.  Do not send your music to people until it does.  Be patient.
iBrostep:  If you were stuck on an island with an ipod that could only hold 5 songs, what would they be?
HPD: It wouldn't matter because the batteries would run out after a day.  Id be more likely to save the batteries to use the ipod as a flash light

iBrostep: Last but not least, who is your favorite “bro” of all time? (this can be any male figure you look up to, respect, or just think is plain awesome)

HPD: Tom Brady.

iBrostep: Thanks again for chatting with us, and we wish you the best of luck with everything going forward with both HPD and Terravita!
